Quartier de la Mouzaïa

Just like Belleville, the homes here follow no pattern, but in general they are smaller and more cramped together. The area used to be a quarry which exported chalk all over the world. Because the ground is unstable and porous, the houses built here couldn't extend beyond two stories tall.

We generally got some strange looks as we trooped around the tiny streets (called villas). The area is not very touristy because there are no major monuments or attractions. (-Lisa)
