Quartier Pigalle (18ème arrondissement)

After walking through the quaint streets near the Quartier St. George, we turned a corner and emerged into what seemed to be a different universe.  Neon lights glared left and right.  We had just entered Pigalle, the red light district.  A great, red windmill loomed in front of us, marking the site of the historic cabaret the Moulin Rouge.  This club, created in1889 (the same year as the Eiffel Tower), was famous for its dancers performing the French can-can.

Another location in Pigalle to note is Le Chat Noir Brasserie whose logo is widely popular.

Other than these two notable locations, we passed several, shall I say risqué hot spots.  For my amusement (and perhaps yours), I have included the names of a few: Supermarché Erotique, Love Shop, Fantasy, Sexy Store, Pussy's Show, and of course the Sexodrome.  We soon left the streets of Pigalle to climb into the neighborhood of Montmartre.
