Le Tavaria
We visited a Corsican restaurant, Le Tavaria. Madame Furstenberg is of Corsican descent, and she invited along some Corsican friends to join us. We sat in the basement, which resembled a cave, and the menus were written on chalkboards on the stone walls. Corsican cuisine is a mix of French and Italian flavors. We all enjoyed the food and Corsican specialties—Natalie even tasted wild boar for the first time. Some of us were disappointed by the music, because we had anticipated a night of authentic Corsican singing, but the singer only performed two songs before putting on some recordings of Paul Simon and Edith Piaf.
