Thoughts on JSF 2009: I was extremely pleased with the way this year's JSF program played out. The range of tours, performing arts events, and gastronomic discoveries was broader than ever, and I had the sense that each of the participants was soaking up a tremendous amount of French culture and French language, and a strengthened sense of what it means to be an American abroad. The energy, inquisitiveness, maturity, and wonderful sense of humor of this group were all outstanding, and I congratulate each and every one of them.
