Would you like to spend two weeks in Paris during IAP?
MIT’s Global Studies and Languages invites undergraduates to apply for the January Scholars in France program. Eight students will be selected to experience two weeks of tutored immersion in the cultural life of Paris.
The theme for the trip this year is Coulisses de Paris / Behind the Scenes in Paris. MIT French instructor Sabine Levet and Paris-based tour guides will lead your behind-the-scenes exploration of both well-known and lesser-known institutions of cultural and urban life. We try to investigate the question, "How does it work?" For instance, we will see how Line #7 of the metro works; observe the machinery that operates the elevators at the Eiffel Tower; meet the people who weave the tapestries at the Gobelins; and visit Station F, a startup incubator.
Airfare, lodging, guided tours, and field trips costs are covered by MIT.
Applications are open to MIT undergraduates. Preference will be given to French minors and concentrators, and those with a demonstrated commitment to French Studies at MIT. January Scholars is not an IAP subject, and there’s no credit or grade awarded.
