Après La Vie Parisienne, nous avons dîné au Gallopin, une brasserie près de la Bourse de Paris. La nourriture était un mélange de cuisine traditionnelle et cuisine inventive. Nasheed a mangé de la moussaka avec des crevettes etun Baba Gallopin (leur variation du baba au rhum). Prof. de Courtivron, qui a goûté le dessert, a déclaré que le baba était « à mourir ».

After watching La Vie Parisienne, we had dinner at Le Gallopin, a brasserie near the Paris Stock Exchange. The menu featured both traditional French cuisine and more inventive fare. Nasheed chose moussaka with shrimp and Baba Gallopin (their version of baba au rhum). Tasting the dessert, Prof. de Courtivron declared that the baba was “to die for”. Quite a few of us had the soupe a l'oignon, which Jean-François Marie said was what the restaurant was known for; and that back in the old days, after a night of dancing at the night clubs , young people would go to to this restaurants for some hearty soupe a l'oignon. Also of note in this restaurant were the glass windows as shown below.
