Chez Marcel

Chez Marcel

We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant after watching Paris, je t’aime. This place is what I have always imagined when I thought of a traditional French restaurant. It is cozy with 1930s style decorations. The place is family-owned and the waiters were very friendly. The food was amazing, probably some of the best we had during our stay. I ordered the coq au vin, while some others ordered the quenelles, a Lyonnaise specialty made of ground fish patties, and both dishes were delicious. Anya even tried to ask for a recipe for the quenelles, although the chef would not give it to her because it is a family secret. If I return to Paris, I will definitely revisit this wonderful gem.
