Pastry Shops
Paris is well-known for the small specialized shops that line its streets, and of these shops, pâtisseries have the most beautiful display counters. Stacked trays of chocolate pastries and glazed fruit tarts never fail to make your mouth water. Some shops subspecialize in dessert cakes while others focus on bakery foods. Gérard Mulot's, the pâtisserie we went to on our very first day in Paris, is particularly renowned for its chocolates and macarons.
